Just me :)
Cooking, discovering new food, and clean eating has been one of my greatest passions. While it’s always been a part of my life, others may not have had the same relationship with food. As a result, out of personal passion and wanting to grow my design skills, I wanted to create a product centered around heling individuals develop healthy eating habits and be inspired to cook.
The problem
Young adults are too busy to learn and get inspired about cooking and need a way to develop and maintain healthy eating habits.
The solution
A digital platform for individuals to explore, discover, and get inspired by recipes that can accommodate their busy schedules.
The process
In order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the needs of DelishDish users, I created user persona's based on my primary and secondary users.

I created this empathy map for my primary user, college-aged students, in order to gain a deeper understanding of the pain points and challenges that users might face. This empathy map focuses on the user's thoughts, feelings, and other possible desires when going through the process of finding a quick and easy recipe.

I conducted an experiment where I interviewed and observed many of my peers regarding their eating and food shopping habits. I found that, while there were days where some participants could cook, the majority of the days resulted in skipped meals or buying food out of convenience. I interviewed and observed 5 participants over the course of 4 days.
With further insights from my user research, I developed a general framework to address the needs of users allowing them to successfully meet their healthy eating goal and guide design.

I decided to furhter improve the design, iterating on DelishDish months later.
I conducted usability tests with 6 particpants discovering the only 50% of participants struggled to search, discover, then save recipes. Overall, improvements to the functionality were necessary.
I started by redefinign the key features and interactions for the user flow.

I revised brand guidelines by simplifying colors, iconography, components, and typography.
